James Mardsen Buys Hollywood Hills Home for $1.83 Million

James Mardsen, the "X men" actor, has reportedly purchased a home in the Hollywood Hills area for $1.83 million.

Mardsen must have really loved the residence because according to public records, he paid over the original asking price of $1.68 million. The home hit the market in August and Mardsen closed on it only by Oct. 3.

Heather T. Roy of Teles Properties represented Mardsen in the deal, while the seller was being assisted by Stephen Parisi of Deasy Penner & Partners.

The very contemporary home makes for a perfect bachelor pad. Spanning an area of 2,265 square feet, the house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Interiors boast of concrete slab floors, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and slider doors and beamed high ceilings.

The home has an open floor plan that encompasses the living area and the open, eat-in kitchen. The bedrooms have enough storage spaces and en-suite bathrooms with separate shower areas.

Outside, the home has a pool with a spa, a fire pit, ample lounging areas and a covered parking space for two cars.

The listing described the place as a "sensational and rare opportunity in the highly desirable Colony enclave of Nichols Canyon."

"This property offers a rare combination of features that are hard to find in the hills at any price," according to its official website.

Mardsen started off his career on television with several shows like "Touch of an Angels" and "Party of Five". He went on to model for Versace and also landed several roles in movies like "The Notebook" and "X Men", where he plays Cyclops. He also appeared in Bryan Singers' "Superman Returns".

Talking about his role evolution in the movies, Mardsen told the Hull Daily Mail:

"The older you get, the more interesting the roles are. When you're young, you're playing the Romeo and Juliet and it's all love-driven and hearts coming out of your eyes. When you're older, there's more complexity to the way you show love, and what's carried with that, and there's a pain behind it sometimes."
