Katie Holmes Checked Out This New York City Pad and Loved It (PHOTOS)

Katie Holmes, the "Dawson's Creek" actress, reportedly checked out a plush pad in a prewar building on the Upper West Side of New York City and loved it so much that she put a bid on it.

The New York Post reports that Holmes loved the condo apartment at 390 West End Avenue, but since it was already in contract with a buyer, she put in a bid for the $6.75 million condo. How much was not specified though.

The condo #6C in The Apthorp building spans an area of 3,100 square feet and is comprised of four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Interiors of the condo feature high drywall ceilings, large glass windows and an open spacious floor plan that allows for ample light and ventilations. The home also boasts of hardwood floorings and crown moldings.

The entrance of the house opens into a marble-mosaic clad gallery, which leads into the living spaces. To the left of the gallery is a formal living room and to the right is a dining room. Heading further, there are two bedrooms and a kitchen and the master suite as well that has huge walk-in closets.

Building amenities of the residence include a children's playroom, 24/7 doorman services, laundry, storage and parking facilities and a gym as well.

While Holmes loved the place, her financial advisors reportedly told her that renting was a better option for her at the moment, according to The Real Deal.

Holmes has been renting an apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood, where she lives with her daughter Suri. She apparently pays $12,500 a month for the place.

Much before Holmes checked out the Upper West Side pad, Us Weekly reported that the "Batman Begins" actress wants to move to a friendlier neighborhood in Midtown NYC and was looking at a $4 million condo.

"She is buying in a more neighborhood-y area. The place has three bedrooms, and she needs to do some work to it but not much," a source told the magazine.

In a recent interview with Glamour Magazine - for the cover of which she went "topless" - Holmes emphasized that Suri was of utmost importance to her.

"I am really focused on motherhood and work right now. I think you don't know-I didn't know how much love I had in me. It's overwhelming. Every day I discover more about this spectacular human being I get to be the mother of," she said.
