Smallville’s Superman Tom Welling's Return To CBS Might Pave the Way for his “Super” Homecoming?

Smallville's Superman Tom Welling gets a deal with CBS as a star and producer of a new show. The TV Network is set to do a drama series titled "Section 13." With Welling's return, it is also a possibility that he might be doing his famous role as Clark Kent, since he'll also be working again with Warner Bros.

Ocean Side Post states that Tom Welling's new project with CBS Network is already in development. CBS drama project "Section 13" is obviously produced by Warner Bros. If recalled, "Smallville" been produced by the said entertainment company.

Tom Welling had been working with Warner Bros. for 10 seasons of the famous TV series "Smallville." Performing his role as Clark Kent, Welling became famous. He is also recognized for his directing skills in The CW's "Hellcats."

Comic Book Resources reports that Tom Welling's new CBS show might "bring him closer to a role on "Supergirl." It has been 15 years since Welling did "Smallville" with CBS. Now that he is home with the TV Network, there's a possibility that he might also appear in the TV series featuring Kara Zor-El.

Report also states that "CBS' 'Supergirl' -- which feels very much like a spiritual successor to the Blue Boy Scout's own origin series -- has followed in the footsteps" of "The Flash" and "Arrow" when it comes to wearing their spandex suits. Remember, it took 10 seasons for Clark Kent to wear his in "Smallville."

Anyhow, it seems fitting to say that Tom Welling has "his own legacy" at CBS. Now that he has a new show with the TV Network, he is already one step closer to wearing his spandex suit again. Maybe a cameo role could be arranged.

As for "Section 13," the plot of the drama series revolves around "ex-CIA black ops officer and a private contractor (played by Welling), who, after a personal tragedy strikes, joins a secret organization that carries out the hardest high-stakes assignments."
