'Person Of Interest' Season 5 Updates & Premiere Date: Show Missed Network's Mid-Season Premiere, To Air Summer Of 2016

CBS has already released the mid-season schedules of its shows, but fans are wondering why "Person of Interest" Season 5 was not one of them.

Master Herald reports that "Person of Interest" Season 5 was supposed to premiere this fall after CBS confirmed its renewal. However, many speculate that because of the not-so-good ratings the show received last season, the network is still holding back the series' premiere date.

It was reported that CBS has already released the mid-season premiere schedules for shows like "2 Broke Girls," "Angel from Hell," "Survivor," "Mike & Molly," "The Amazing Race," "Criminal Minds," "The Odd Couple," "Undercover Boss,"  and "Code Black." Other speculations reveal that CBS is planning on premiering "Person of Interest" in the summer of 2016 to help boost the show's ratings. In addition, some sources think that if the show premieres in the summer, it can avoid certain competitions and revive its low ratings.

Meanwhile, Christian Today reports that the other reason why CBS is delaying the premiere of the show is because they are prioritizing their other series, since "Person of Interest" is an original product of Warner Brothers Television and is only licensed for the channel. This could also be the reason why the network decided to air "Person of Interest" Season 5 in the summer because most of its shows are already done airing by this time.

The site also pointed out the show is still currently in production and will be finished by late December. It would take a significant amount of time for post-production work to get finished, and this could also be the reason why CBS has yet to announce the official premiere date of its Season 5.

It was already confirmed that "Person of Interest" Season 5 will only have 13 episodes instead of 22, and this gave fans the impression that this could be the last season for the show. However, CBS has yet to confirm those rumors.
