It's confirmed -- the Netflix spinoff for the classic 'Full House' entitled 'Fuller House' won't have an appearance from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. This is somewhat a surprise for the fans of the show since the entire cast was on-board with this exciting reboot.
Lori Loughlin, who plays Becky Katsopolis in the series, shared this tidbit to the Huffington Post via Hollywood Life. She confirmed that the 29-year-old twins haven't filmed any scenes for the first season -- they didn't even bother to drop by for a quick cameo appearance. Mary-Kate and Ashley alternatively played the role of Michelle Tanner.
Lori said in the interview that filming for the season has wrapped up, and she understands why the twins didn't bother to partake in the spinoff saying that they are simply 'in a different phase in their life.'
Despite two of the main stars ditching the show, Lori shared that it has been a delight working with the 'Full House' crew again. She elaborated that it's like they haven't stopped filming, and that "after you got over the initial surreal experience of like, 'Wow, we're here again,' we sort of fell back into line exactly as we were." They shared a lot of laughs during filming and it definitely felt like old times.
The cast has been sharing snaps during filming on social media, and it looks like they've been having so much fun being the midst of one another again. John Stamos, who was recently conviction for driving under the influence, will also reprise his role as Uncle Jesse. John said in a previous interview that he has called the twins in an effort to get them on board. Looks like his efforts weren't enough! Entertainment Weekly reports that his DUI case won't get in the way of future filming, as he wasn't given any jail time. He only got three years under probation, and a very small fine of $390.
'Fuller House' will be available on Netflix next year.
