Dwayne Johnson ready to move to Broward County home this summer

Dwayne Johnson, nicknamed "The Rock," is ready to move to his Broward County home sometime this summer, according to the Gossip Extra, which reports that construction work at the Hollywood action hero's home is nearly complete.

The five-bedroom property, called Pietra D'Oro, sits on a 2.5-acre lot and comes equipped with a six-car garage. The wrestler-turned-actor acquired the 13,700-square-foot home just outside Fort Lauderdale for $4.5 million last Christmas.

Not surprisingly, the "Fast & Furious 7" actor's home boasts a custom-made gym worth $300,000. The workout room itself is spread over 4,000 square feet. Employees working on the house completed the gym, which features customized weights and contraptions, in spring.

A number of celebrities, including his ex-wife and founder of the media management company The Garcia Companies, Dany Garcia, and Chicago Bears stars Devin Hester and Brandon Marshal reside in the same neighborhood

County land records show that last year, 41-year-old Johnson purchased an equally large house on Berkshire Court for $3.45 million through one of his business partners, Howard Altman, who heads the Los Angeles Trust Fund. He dumped the place in April, however, suffering a nearly $3 million loss in the process.

Though unfortunate, Johnson, the No. 1 on Forbes List of top grossing actors in 2013, can no doubt afford it. In all, his movies collected $1.3 billion at the box office worldwide last year.
