'Arrow' Season 4 Episode 7 Review: Fight Scenes, A Millions Time Better; Bringing Back Dead Upset the Balance of the Show?

"Arrow" season 4 episode 7 has managed to get the attention of its viewers. "Brotherhood" episode did not only showcase good fight scenes but also did present an emotional scene, which touches the heart of the audience. But then, it seems that the TV series has becoming fond of bringing dead people (or at least believed to be dead) back to life. This sort of approach may upset the balance of the show.

IBTimes says that "Arrow" season 4 episode 7 got very personal. As viewed, team arrow is getting closer to Damien Darhk. "Brotherhood" begins with the team hunting down the Ghosts, Darhk's commando unit. Darhk's men were "trying to steal an armored truck full of cash, but when they destroyed it instead, it's revealed that the money was meant to buy out Star City Bank. For some reason, Darhk and his backers, H.I.V.E., want the city poor."

The episode also showed that Oliver Queen was into his plan of becoming the mayor of Star City. His plans for the city was also revealed like having a massive clean up in the bay area and then generate more jobs for the people. Of course, Damien Darhk was not happy of Oliver's mayoral candidacy and so he had dark plans to frustrate Oliver's intention to make Star city a better place.

With everything that happened in "Brotherhood" episode, the character of John Diggle stood out. In fact, TV over Mind says episode 7 of the "Arrow" season 4 is "an emotionally-charged moment" as far as David Ramsey's performance is concerned. The critic says it is the finest performance of Ramsey in the series.

It has specifically singled-out the scenes of Diggle and Laurel. That specific moment is one of the most powerful scenes of "Arrow" season 4 episode 7 because Laurel had provided Diggle the kind of support that not all member of Team Arrow could give. "The theme went beyond that and touched upon family as a whole, especially with Team Green Arrow." Oliver's principle, that no one is beyond redemption, is also touching.

Aside from the emotional touch that the show presented, the fight scenes of "Brotherhood" appear to be a million times better than the previous episodes of "Arrow." Perhaps it's because this episode was helmed by James Bamford, the stunt coordinator of the show.

"Arrow" season 4 episode 7 is James Bamford's directorial debut, and as it turned out, he had done a great job in "Brotherhood."

There are other strong points that critics have noted in "Arrow" season 4 episode 7. But one thing that has not escaped the attention of JoBlo was the dead people coming back to life. The critic says that "the decision to introduce supernatural elements to Arrow's more grounded approach to comic book storytelling was a double edged sword." The show gets the chance to extend over "The Flash's" meta-human world at the same time introducing "a larger range of superheroes for upcoming spin-off series Legends of Tomorrow."

However, JoBlo says that it " also has upset the balance on Arrow by bringing dead characters back to life." It all started with Thea Queen, then Sara Lance. Other characters that audience had presumed dead are also resurfacing like Ray Palmer in episode 6, and now in episode 7 Andy Diggle.
