Harmonix Delivers First Ever 'Rock Band 4' Update This December

Developer Harmonix has been continuously expanding "Rock Band's" music library with its constant additional song DLCs.  But its first ever major update since its release in October 6, 2015 will be hitting consoles this December.

According to Polygon, the update that Harmonix will be releasing for "Rock Bank 4" next month will introduce new score challenge features, improved calibration and other improvements to band simulation game. This update is actually the first one for Harmonix to add new features to the game and not songs. Some features from previous Rock Band titles will be added as well.

Moreover, the update next month will be aimed at players who are extra competitive. Other additions will include, in-game notifications of leaderboard events, a taunt system, variable breakneck speed and full combo recognition for perfect streaks among others, according to Polygon

In the Harmonic Blog, Harmonix Music Systems Project Director Daniel Sussman announces that eh company is planning to deliver monthly updates of varying sizes that will bring bug fixes, performance improvements or additional features as noted from feedbacks coming from community channels. Therefore, Sussman is encouraging the community to continue to be proactive about what they like or don't like or what is missing in the game

"At Harmonix, we have never offered this kind of visibility into our future development plans before. We're doing it because we want you to be informed and help us make good decisions about how we prioritize our work. We ask that you please understand that the development process isn't entirely smooth," he also wrote.

He continued, "sometimes features get delayed or pulled based on testing, performance, first party delays, etc. Because we're developing this stuff live, we may not always be able to give an exact date for a feature or bug fix. However, we CAN keep you informed about what we're working on, how things are going and when we hope to deliver."

Besides the upcoming game update, the latest addition to its ever-expanding music catalog went live on November 16. Four new songs were added including Ed Sheeran's "Sing" which comes bundled with Saint Raymond's "Young Blood", Vance Joy's "Rip Tide" and Walk The Moon's "Shut Up and Dance"

"Rock Band 4" is available on  PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
