While a majority of the customers receiving gadgets with manufacturing defects or errors would get mad or become irate, one particular customer could be considered very fortunate that Apple has made an error in the iPad Pro that he received.
The recently launched iPad Pro is available in three colors, which include gold, space gray and silver. Just like other Apple devices, the Touch ID ring in the silver model is silver, the gold model is apparently gold, and the space gray model is black.
However, a reader of the Apple news website, 9to5Mac, received an iPad Pro with very unique color combinations. The reader shared both a video and image of his iPad Pro that comes with a manufacturing glitch. The silver tablet has a gold Touch ID ring.
The tablet, which was purchased by the user from AT&T, is a 128GB model and is LTE capable. Apart from the rare color for the Touch ID ring, the color of its edges, back, and everything else in the tablet is in line with the usual silver variant.
The user tried contacting Apple to report the issue and the company also responded by saying that the gold Touch ID ring on the silver iPad Pro model was a manufacturing error, which is extremely rare. If the user wished to have the device replaced, he is advised to go to AT&T to get a replacement tablet instead of getting the device directly from the Apple company.
Meanwhile, AT&T told the user when he reached the carrier that the iPad Pro is a result of a very rare production problem. The company also added that the device could give him an ample amount of money if he decided to put it up for auction.
According to 9to5Mac, they haven't received any other similar report for iPad Pro tablets, which makes it very interesting to see how this rare manufacturing glitch came about. The user also said the he would not put up his iPad Pro for auction and decided to keep it as it makes the device more appealing to most customers.
