Samsung to Manufacture a New Flip Phone Featuring a 16-Megapixel Camera and 3GB of RAM

Samsung Electronics might be busy working on its most-awaited, soon-to-be, new flagship phone, the Galaxy S7. However, apart from that, the Korean giant company is also reported to offer another Galaxy flip phone featuring the same premium specs of the company's present flagship smartphone.

The latest Galaxy Golden 3 surfaced on TENAA, revealing its core specs and some leaked photos of what is to be the most-awaited flip phone from Samsung. The handset seems to have a lot of similarities with its predecessor. It features a classy, metallic front design and a little curved glass back case. More so, according to Phandroid, the new handset is quite similar to the Galaxy 6S, pointing out the camera flash, which is exactly positioned on the same spot.

Without a doubt, the unannounced, premium flip phone is indeed an upgrade to last year's Galaxy Golden 2. It is equipped with a dual, 3.9-inch Super AMOLED display with excellent resolution, a 16-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. The handset is also powered by an Exynos 7420 processor and comes with 3GB of RAM and a 64GB onboard storage. It also runs the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system.

According to VR-Zone, since the new flip phone has almost the same specs and features with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5, its price tag is also more likely to fall under the higher-end of the spectrum. The Galaxy Golden 3 is reported to be launched with SM-W2016 as its model number, but only in some markets. The new, smart flip phone may also not be available in the U.S., Australia or Europe.

The Korean tech company and its rival, LG, have never ceased developing flip phones in Asia, especially in the South Eastern part. Japan, for example, has a skyrocketing demand for this type of handset with over 10.6 million units shipped last year. The demand is still continuously growing with more and more people getting interested in this kind of device, along with its pretty impressive specs and features.
