NYC Real Estate: Tribeca Pad Formerly Rented by Channing Tatum Now on the Market for $6.5M

Even though this townhouse dates back from as early as 1830, its timeless design is still appealing. 6sqft featured that the home, formerly rented by Channing Tatum but is owned by legal malpractice lawyer W. Robert Curtis, is now on the market for $6.5 million. Prior to this listing price, the townhouse rented for $18k to $35k per month.

The five-storey, two-bedroom, 3,231-square-foot townhouse used to be a factory which produced antiseptic soaps during the Civil War, reports 6sqft. The home's 1830s vibe can be felt in its exposed pine and oak beams, and even in the installment of a 'dumb waiter' or a mechanical hoist that services the basement up to the fifth floor, all from the original construction work of the property. The place is also lined with oak floors, brick walls and black steel-framed windows, while the open staircases are also black steel. The sliding glass doors to the bedrooms save a lot of space.

The first floor of the building is designated as a retail space and is perfect for enterprising individuals who would like to do business in the Lower Manhattan area. The second floor has a den, an office, and one guest bedroom with a full marble bath. The master bedroom can be found on the third floor, and also has its own full bath with a closet and dressing area. The kitchen and dining is on the fourth floor, but the mechanical hoist makes it handy to lug groceries and food all the way up. Available kitchen furnishings include a SubZero ref, a Viking commercial range and a Miele dishwasher, so you won't have to worry about getting these anymore. In addition to these kitchen appliances are the black stained poplar cabinets and the black marble countertops. The fifth floor living room, on the otherhand, has a half-bath and connects to the private roof deck and lush planted conservatory on top.

The red-brick Tribeca townhouse can be found on 155 Duane Street in Manhattan. NY Curbed reports that Tatum began renting the home in the Summer of 2012, and that it has been on and off the rental market for many years before Curtis decided to sell it. The owner once sued star chef David Bouley of Bouley Studio, as the latter supposedly dirtied up the block when he dumped garbage from his restaurant in the area.
