Celebrity Real Estate: Alexander Frolov, Former L.A. Kings Winger, Cuts Price on Manhattan Beach Home

The price of the Manhattan Beach home of former L.A. Kings winger, Alexander Frolov, has been reduced by $100,000 after it was listed on the market for five months. The home is now looking for a prospective buyer who is willing to spend $2.9 million.

Frolov retired from hockey in 2014 after playing seven seasons with the Kings, one season with the New York Rangers, and in his native country, Russia.

The IIHF gold medalist, an award he received in 2009 with the Russian national team, just couldn't stay away yet with the club, signing anew for a one-year deal with Russian club Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod last July. Now living abroad, the left winger is ready to dispose of his stunning Los Angeles home.

According to Realtor, the property was formerly owned by a basketball player and it has a high ceiling. Would-be buyers of the house will surely love the backyard, where a stone patio surrounds the kidney-shaped pool and spa, which can be an ideal location to enjoy the Southern California sunshine.

When Kings President and General Manager Dean Lombardi were asked about Frolov, he said that he was not optimistic to re-sign Frolov with the Kings. "When you talk about building today, it's certainly different from prior to the lockout," Lombardi said, as reported by Frozen Royalty.

Lombardi is not too optimistic, and went on to say that Frolov's salary demand is more than his actual value in the National Hockey League. But Frolov cannot be blamed for being attracted by the unreasonable sum of tax-free money that the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia is offering players. The KHL is doing their best to get back Frolov.

Lombardi's comments on a radio show in Edmonton showed that nothing has changed since earlier in the season, in terms of the salary Frolov is seeking from the Kings. Presumably, some NHL team might be interested in Frolov when he becomes a free agent.
