Tyra Banks Net Worth: ANTM Host Was Rejected Six Times For Being "A Black Model"

One of the biggest names in the modelling world is making the headlines as she opened up what she went though. Tyra Banks was rejected several times simply because she was "a black model". She then shared that the first six agencies she went to turned their backs on her.

As per Tribune, during her interview with Glamour Magazine, Tyra was asked on what she went through before she made it big in the modelling world.

"Oh, so many. There was a door that was locked because I was a young black model and the first six agencies I knocked at said no - I think four of the six said, 'We already have a black girl. When I wanted to be a television producer, I had a lot of people tell me, 'Oh, you're a model, you could never do that. You walk runways in your underwear'."

She may have left her the runway, but she continued to work in the industry. Tyra is now a producer, a business woman, and a host of one of the most popular shows "America's Next Top Model."
