Drone Footage Reveals Boulders' Destructive Trails Through 300-year-old Barn, Vineyard [VIDEO]

Drone footage gathered in the northern Italian countryside reveals the destructive trail left when up to 4,000 cubic meters of rock broke off from a cliff and proceeded to roll down the hillside, tearing through a 300-year-old barn and vineyard.

No one was injured in the event, according to South Tirol News, which reported the event. However, approximately four acres of vineyard were affected.

Known as The Freisingerhof, the property is owned by the Tyrolean Servite order of the Catholic Church.

According to a preliminary estimate by the estate manager Baron Philipp von Hohenbühel, the damage caused by the boulders is in the millions of euros. This number came within just feet of being much higher, however, as one of the boulders luckily came to a stop before plowing through a main section of the building.

Locals have been holding their breath ever since the blow took place Jan. 21. According to South Tirol News, geologists, firefighters and police have been charged with investigating the situation.

"We will do everything possible soon establish the safety of the residents again," said Civil Defence Councillor Arnold Schuler in an English translation of the German article.

The area has been evacuated and the roads to the farm shut down.

"A rock tower has dissolved and a residual rock is still unstable, as it greatly narrows the foot and makes an unstable impression," said state geologist David Toni Dandl. "Also, there are still many loose boulders present."
