As RealtyTimes posted, make sure to answer the following questions before finalizing your deal to buy a house.

Your main concern is your family's safety and security.

Check on the safety measures of the neighborhood that you are going to live in. Of course, it is nearly impossible to find a place that is completely safe, but there are those that are considerably safer than the others.

Are there transportation facilities?

While millennials prefer to have their home near educational institutions, shopping and entertainment centers and other establishments and institutions, there are times that the home you are eyeing is quite far from the aforementioned. So, having the public transport such as subway stations and bus stops available and near your  home is a plus, especially if you plan of commuting.

Moreover, homes near public transport will always maintain their value or even increase as time passes compared to those that are far from transportation facilities.

Are the educational institutions better?

If you are a parent that has kids or is expecting kids in the near future, then you may want to consider their education prior to buying a home. Of course, you can always have them homeschooled. But, if you won't, then make sure that the educational institutions in the vicinity of your neighborhood is a better one.

Is the cost of living affordable?

If you can have a neighborhood that has an affordable cost of living whilst giving you all other amenities, then you have a very good neighborhood.

Are there walking and bike trails?

Millennials love to walk, jog and ride a bike. This is because we are more concerned about our health. So it is best to check if there are bike and walking trails on the neighborhood that we plan of choosing. Also, this is a great way to bond with your kids - late afternoon biking or early morning walks.

Are there any other amenities in the neighborhood?

Sometimes, people cannot afford having everything in their homes. So it is best if the neighborhood can give it to them. If you can have a neighborhood with a local swimming pool, newspaper, gym, tv stations and so on, you are in a good one.

Choosing your neighborhood is essential to your and your family's growth and happiness. Make sure you don't just give into a deal. Check around it. Check the neighborhood!
