Choose colorful flower plants for your garden

Even if winter spells out a cold feeling, this can be change as soon as you do something fun with your garden. HGTV advises that you try planting some of these colorful flower plants: violas, asters, sweet asylum and you can even coordinate these plants with other edible ones, cabbage, and kale.

Ponder on your Garden

Another tip by HGTV says that you should not neglect your gardening duties especially in planting some staple vegetables such as "lettuces" and other greens because they actually "mature quickly" in this season. Don't be afraid and you could even put in a "frost blanket" to protect your garden.

The Best Time to Clean

This is the best time to clean those garden tools, scrub those soil dirts, or even sharpen it now. This tip is given to prevent any "rust" to damage your tools just so that next time you will use it, it will still be in good condition.

Get those Indoor Plants Pest-free

Many are not taking this step seriously and they end up keeping some indoor plants that are either infested by pests or are due for more damage. HGTV said to "Clean up dead leaves and other damaged bits. Spray your plants with insecticidal soap a few days before moving them inside to also give pests the boot."

Clean up and Save Seeds

Clean up your garden, rake up those fallen leaves and do not just leave them on the ground. What you can do to prevent it from getting infected with pests is to "mulch" these piles of leaves. Apart from this, it is also advised to keep those seeds for the next season. Label them and keep them in paper envelopes or bags.
