'Days of Our Lives' Cast & Spoilers: Alexander Bruszt Extends Contract; Fynn To Have Love Interest?

"Days of Our Lives" star Alexander Bruszt who plays Dr. Fynn has received a contract extension for the daytime soap.

Soap Opera Spy reported that TPTB will soon pair Alexander to a long-term love interest and the show is already starting a chemistry test to see who fits right for the actor.

Reportedly, Alexander won the "Days of Our Lives" Search for a Star casting hunt.

News.Com.Au had the chance to interview the Aussie actor on the eve of "Days of Our Lives" 50th anniversary wherein he shared that he was surprised that his character as Dr. Fynn will stay long on Salem. He thought that his time on DOOL is over when his first contract ended. Surprisingly, he got a call from the show's producer which says "he got another cycle."

It has been reported that his original stint on the show is only for three months but he must have done a good job and got the extension. Alexander shared, "I didn't know whether they wanted me, or they were going to be through with me but I'm continuing with storylines...I'm stoked."

Alexander said that his character as Dr. Fynn is more on the good side, saying, "He's a good doctor and looks after everyone." He also revealed that at the moment, they are still finding him a perfect love interest. 

"They're trying to see what my chemistry is with other people. They are testing me with everyone at the moment," says Alexander.

Alexander was asked, now that he got his first extension with this contract, if there is a chance that it will extended further. He answered, "I think there could be potential. They way I see it is you could be gone at any time, they could shoot your character tomorrow and you're a goner. So I think everyone lives with that." 

Alexander added, "But you've got a bit of time if you're in a storyline with a love interest."

For now, fans just have to wait and see who will be Dr. Fynn's romantic partner on Salem.
