'Clash of Clans' Updates and News: Supercell Becomes Finland's Biggest Money Maker; CoC Developer Releases New Game Updates

Supercell, "Clash of Clans" developer and a Finland-based mobile gaming company, reportedly raked in huge profits last year and is now considered the country's biggest money-maker. The company's taxable income is reported to be nearly ten times that of Nokia.

Finnish news agency STT announced on Nov. 2 that the company behind "Clash of Clans" earned 871 million euros and had the highest pre-tax income of any Finnish company in 2014. On the other hand, Nokia, once Finland's biggest company, has scaled down in their profits. According to tax officials, Nokia now only earns 92 million euros.

"Clash of Clans" is a very popular mobile game that has hooked mobile gamers worldwide with its strategic antics. According to Ubergizmo, an online electronics and game analyst, Supercell might have won the crown from "King," the developer of Candy Crush.

In 2014 alone, it was revealed that "Clash of Clans" players spent an absurd amount of $1.3 billion in in-app purchases. "King" was reported to have made $633,000 a day in 2013.

During the ClashCon 2015, Supercell announced a new update on their mobile game developments, Neurogadget reported. No specific release date was mentioned but speculations suggest that it will be released this November. The latest CoC updates include a new
town hall, a new hero, a new defensive unit and a gem mine.

The new update is expected to transform the defense structure into 4 x 4 squares and will look like an eagle. The map will also be expanded to 44 x 44 squares giving enough space for game maneuverings. Rumors have it that the developer might finally enable loot sharing. The game's gem mine can be useful in the long run as it generates small amounts of gems.

Barbarian troops will have a level 8 upgrade which means having higher hp, causing even more damage than before. As for the new Hero, Neurogadget reported that a mage character might be introduced carrying a staff in his hand.

Supercell also released a special Halloween theme for avid "Clash of Clans" players during the Halloween weekend. The players were able to earn a 1-gem spell factory boost and a bonus Elixir from the Halloween cauldron obstacle.
