John Fogerty Purchases Large Californian Estate for $8.9 Million

John Fogerty, the frontman of the popular sixties band "Creedence Clearwater Revival" has reportedly purchased a large 20 plus acre estate in Thousand Oaks, California, for $8.9 million, according to some real estate reports.

The Real Estalker reports that Fogerty purchased the large Hidden Valley estate sometime back in May 2013 under the name of a trust that also owns his Beverly Hills mansion. The estate has large stretches of irrigation fields and a 22,000 gallon cistern. It also has a huge main residence, a swimming pool, a spa, a 12-car garage and a private water well.

The main unit is a 13,053 square feet home comprising of seven bedrooms, seven full and one half bath, all done up in Mediterranean style. Photos of the home on the blog reveal high, cathedral style beamed ceilings, light hardwood floors and large glass windows. Outside, the large salt-water pool and a few fountains adorn the large lawns.

Meanwhile, Fogerty's Beverly Hills mansion was listed 'privately' in July. Trulia revealed the listing price was somewhere around $23 million.

Fogerty's band, Creedence was a phenomenon in the sixties and the seventies. More recently, he went on a country wide tour belting out some famous songs from his times. The tour started Oct.29 in Hollywood and ended in New York City Nov.14. It was a smash hit with sold-out tickets in every venue.

The soon-to-be 70 singer is definitely on a roll. In an interview with AARP.org, Fogerty confessed the secret to his stamina and his youth.

"Well, I don't smoke. And I'm careful about what I eat, but I'm not a fanatic - I like steak, for example. When you're older, the metabolism slows down, so you have to get into some sort of exercise program. I'm a runner. I run every day at home and a couple of days a week when I'm on the road. It beats sightseeing from a cab!"
