Nathalia Potanina made the headlines as she will soon be crowned as the world's richest ex-wife. As per The Celebrity Net Worth, Potanin and Natalia have been together 30 years as he spent half of his life with her and their three children. The ex-wife then narrated that their divorce is the most expensive divorce in world history.
Potanin acquired most of his fortune during the pivotal years of privatization after Soviet Union collapsed. Back in 1992, Potanin and his partner Mikhail Prokhorov opened one of the first private banks in Russia. In doing so, both of them earned incredibly well over the past years. One of the most remarkable business move they made was when they put up the controversial "loans for shares" programs.
As of today, Potanin is Norilsk Nickel CEO, in which he has 30% stake in the company which is worth $7 billion.
During an interview with Daily Mail, Natalia narrated one of her most shocking divorce experience.
They may be together for the longest time, but he divorced her in November 2013. Upon doing so he asked his wife to "backdate the divorce and any possible settlement to 2007", back when he wasn't that rich yet.
At first she thought he was joking, as she was caught off guard with his request. But he was indeed serious as this was the last time she talked to her husband.
"Vladimir Potanin dumped, betrayed and humiliated me; he also decided to wipe every kopek (penny) off our family money."
"His public face has always been based on an image of a strong family man. Yes, Vladimir Potanin and his lawyers keep winning court cases, but I don't see it as their final victory."
Potanin have been having an affair with one of his employee, 15 years his junior, in which he had a child with.
