Angelina Jolie Squashes Divorce Rumors; Calls Brad Pitt 'The Most Supportive Husband'

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie gave a rare sit-down interview with Tom Brokaw for "Today Show." Hollywood's power couple openly chatted with the host about their "very, very stable" marriage.

The actors, who have six children, officially tied the knot last year. They are no stranger to rumors surrounding their family, particularly one that suggests divorce. Jolie squashed the story and praised Pitt for being a supportive husband, especially during a most difficult stage in her life.

In 2013, the 40-year-old actress underwent a preventive double mastectomy, upon learning that she had 87 percent chance of getting breast cancer through a defective gene. Early this year, she had her ovaries removed, causing an early menopause.

"I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and that this wasn't something where I was going to feel less of a woman, because my husband wasn't going to let that happen," Jolie shared.

Pitt added that he would do anything for his family. "Whatever's got to be done to keep the family together, and keep the family together as long as possible is going to be done," he said. "This was her charge, no question. It's a scary decision. There's many things that can go wrong and go many different directions."

Jolie and Pitt are promoting their upcoming movie, "By the Sea," which was written and directed by Jolie herself. This is their first movie since 2005's "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," where the two met and fell in love.

According to the Daily Mail, the movie follows a 1970s troubled couple, whose marriage "is on the brink of collapse." Jolie was quick to deny that the movie is reflective of their real life.

"I'm counting on the audience to know that if it was close to us at all, we could never make this film. It's because we're actually very, very stable and these aren't our issues," the actress explained.

Jolie and Pitt's interview airs on "Today Show" on Monday, Nov. 2.

"By the Sea" hits theaters on Nov. 13. Watch the trailer below:
