Celebrity Real Estate: Fired Dolphins Coach Joe Philbin Selling $2.5M Florida Mansion

Just two weeks after he was fired, former Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin has listed on the market his Mediterranean-style estate in Davie, FL for $2.5 million.

After the team's disappointing loss to the New York Nets on Oct. 4, the management decided to end the four-year coaching job of Joe Philbin. Before joining the Miami Dolphins, Philbin served as offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers for four years, which included their Super Bowl-winning 2010 season.

According to Realtor, the 7,850-square-foot, six-bedroom mansion of Philbin is as private as it gets. The property is securely located in a gated community, the place also has a secondary security gate outside the courtyard.

While the exterior of the property is all about security, the interior is all about entertainment, as the home features a game room, a wine room, and a "resort-style pool," says listing agent Deborah Khoury.

"It's something you have to see," the listing agent said of the home's high-end furnishings, including marble floors throughout the first level, and hardwood floors in the bedrooms (each of which has its own bathroom and balcony). The agent also said that the property has "very lush landscaping."

When Philbin was hired as a first-time head coach in 2012, he went 24-28. But when he failed to reach the playoffs, his job with the Miami Dolphins has been in jeopardy since a rocky 2013 season.

Daily Mail said the new coach, Dan Campbell, who replaced Joe Philbin, believes his under-achieving team needs to show more aggressiveness and looks forward to breaking up a few fights. "I'm not here just to finish the season up," Campbell said. "That's not my plan. We're coming here to win games. It's still early. We have time to turn everything around. But we can't wait," Campbell went on to explain.

Coaching changes in midseason are unusual in the NFL. But last year, the Raiders' Dennis Allen was fired following Week 4, after a loss, and pretty much the same thing that happened to Philbin with the Dolphins in London.
