Talking about haunted houses is perfect now that Halloween is fast approaching. There are a few famous settings to scary houses that you can actually visit, according to PEOPLE and LA Times. When it comes visiting these famous scary house, some that you have seen in movies, you have to set aside the fictional characters that you have in mind about it.
Here are some of the haunted houses that we have seen on movies that you can actually visit:
The House On Haunted Hill
This is 1959 horror flick that features Vincent Price as a kook who throws party in a haunted house. The house still exists up to this day and it is called the Ennis House. The house was built in 1942 and designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. It was bought in 2011 but a condition in the sale states that the house should be open to the public viewing 12 days a year.
The Amityville Horror
The movie is all about the Lutz family who moved into the Long Island home wherein the previous owner killed his own family. The real home is located in Amityville, New York and it does not look creepy anymore.
Poltergeist
This 1982 film talks about the Freeling family who moved into a tract home only to find out that there are some angry souls living there who happened to have unhealthy interest to their daughter. The house that was used in the movie is located in Simi Valley, California.
Ju-on: The Grudge
This is a Japanese movie about a house being cursed. The Saeki House is hard to find considering it is like a maze in order for you to get there.
Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia
This is definitely a spooky place to go to considering that it used to be a prison. The attraction offers a new scary scenario the Quarantine 4D and Break Out.
13th Gate in Baton Rouge, L.A.
According to Travel Channel, "this is one of the most detailed haunted houses in America -- so realistic that you will scream for mercy." Every year the said attraction comes up with 13 scary themes that can definitely give you goose bumps. And this year it has been reported that they added a "demonic-style possession in a cabin."
The Darkness in St. Louis
For those who are up for some techno kind of thrill then this attraction is perfect for you. This is a two-story attraction inside a 3D Haunted House Terror Visions. It has "floating floors, moving walls and creepy clowns lurking around every dark corner."
