New Yorker Spotlight: Larry Berezin Gives the Down Low on Why You Should Never Pay a Parking Ticket Without Any Questions At All

Many New Yorkers have no garage of their own, but there are still many city residents who keep cars. If you're one of many car owners who depend only on street parking, you know that you are facing a big challenge on the streets.

Every year the city of New York issues around 10 million parking tickets with fines ranging from $65 all the way up to $300. Most of the parking violators pay those violations with no questions asked. According to lawyer Larry Berezin, that's a problem, because a large percentage of NYC tickets are scam tickets.

According to 6SQFT, when Berezin was asked about any idea on how many tickets are illegally issued, he said that of the 10 million tickets issued every year, only three million are contested. Most tickets are paid, no questions asked. About 50 percent of the three million are dismissed when people fight them.

6SQFT also added that most of the car-owning New Yorkers who don't have a garage of their own will tell you how they hate circling their block for 20 minutes, not finding vacant parking spaces.

However, there is an option to avoid this time-wasting maneuvering on the block and that's paying for a monthly which will come a little costly. The factor here is "paying" and if you live in New York, that space could make use of your hard-earned dollar.

If you want to know how on-site parking prices are determined, Jacqueline Urgo, the president of The Marketing Group has said: "There is no formula, but an on-site garage is a highly coveted amenity, much like buying a townhouse with a private garage versus one without. The cost is determined by several factors, including the level of the product, the overall pricing of units and garage space inventory. In other words, pricing in a luxury condominium might be more than one in a building that would be considered more mid-market."
