Lifestyle of the Richest: Take a Glimpse Inside the Home of One of the World’s Wealthiest Families - Inside a Lavish $33K a Month Home

Take a glimpse inside the lavish home of one of the world's wealthiest families. One of three townhouses in the Upper East Side, which has ties to the Safra banking family, is now available for rent at $33,000 a month.

Tennie Chan Sassano and Beth Sergeant of real estate firm Compass, have posted the listing which gives an inside look at how the family spends its vast fortune.

According to Daily News, the property was formerly owned by the legendary Astor family. The spectacular limestone mansion was recently renovated but still has the original nineteenth century details, including herringbone floors, elaborate millwork, decorative moldings, and inset customized bookshelves.

The lavish home has three bedrooms, a master suite with a fireplace and Juliet balcony, an outdoor terrace, a personal security system, a home office and a keyed private elevator landing to the third level.

Beautifully located at E. 62nd Street, the three lavish homes were listed earlier this year for sale with a stunning asking price of $120 million. If the three properties were sold for that price, it would go down in history as one of the most expensive properties ever sold in Manhattan.

The properties are just one block south of Congregation Edmond J. Safra, which was started by late billionaire banking tycoon, Edmond Safra.

The billionaire died in a fire started by one of his aides while staying at his mansion on the French Riviera in 1999.

Curbed said the homes on the Upper East Side are no doubt the most expensive real estate properties in New York. The three townhouses at 12-16 East 62nd Street were listed at a combined price of $120 million.

One of the homes located at 14 East 62nd Street is now offered for rent at a whopping price of $33,000 a month. But this price may be more attractive to prospective tenants than the selling price of the three properties.
