Update: Katy Perry’s Double Purchase in Hollywood Hills Confirmed

Just a few weeks ago, the property market was buzzing with rumors of pop princess, Katy Perry, purchasing two adjoining parcels of property in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles.  The rumors have been confirmed and reports say that Perry has paid almost $11.2 million for the double-plot purchase.

Combined together, the two properties cover almost around four acres of land with two gated entrances, two main houses, two detached guest houses, two swimming pools and spas. The larger property spans an area of 2.33 acres and has been upgraded since it last sold in April 2004. The second property takes up 1.62 acres of area and comprises of a vacant undeveloped lot as well.

Perry purchased the residences from millionaire heiress, Aileen Getty, who in turn had bought one  property from Bruce Springsteen and the other one from Max Weinberg.

According to Realtor.com:

"The home is at the end of a long private driveway and sits on nearly an acre. The five-bedroom home was built in 1953 and has midcentury modern lines with walls of glass, an open floor plan and a sharp, angular appeal. The kitchen has stainless counters and Miele appliances and flows into a large living room with 14-foot ceilings and a fireplace. The master bathroom has dual custom-poured concrete vanities and wood floors. The property also has a two-bedroom guesthouse and a swimming pool with views of the Los Angeles skyline."

While buying herself a double dose of real estate, Perry has been struggling to unload her other home in Hollywood Hills that she purchased with ex-husband, Russell Brand in 2011. Initially, she listed the home privately, but failing to sell then, she listed it public.

The home is a spacious 8855 square feet residence comprising of seven bedrooms and seven full and four half bathrooms. The three-story home has dark stained hardwood flooring, beamed wooden ceilings and large Palladian windows.

Living spaces include a large living room, a paneled dining room, a library, a gallery and a media lounge. The kitchen is a gourmet culinary place with modern fittings and fixtures. The place also has a breakfast area, a snack counter and a mid-rise island.

Outside, the home has a double story detached structure that has a three-car garage upstairs and a maids quarters and a studio on the lower level. Another detached guest house and a swimming pool also exist on the property.
