Organization Mistakes You Make At Home - What You Need To Stop Doing To Avoid A Messy Looking Home

It's important to understand that the solution to mess is organization, and not simply cleaning things up. Here are some tips that can guide you to increase organization within your home.

1. 'Clean' And 'Organized' are not 100% synonymous

A neat pile of things on top of the counter doesn't mean organized. Organization means designating spots for all the pile clutters found in your home. Once you assign permanent spots for the things that come to your home, the clutter look will disappear.

2. Keep things where they should be

In the kitchen for instance, clear the counter of the things that do not belong there. Instead, put in the things you use everyday like your blender if you make smoothies on a daily basis. This frees you from digging through your cabinets and drawers for things that you need immediately when you get to the kitchen.

3. The fridge that's full of messages may eventually be a pain to the eyes

Eventually, the fridge will look like a giant vandalized wall if you continue to use it as a bulletin board. Going for an actual bulletin board is a better idea than using your fridge as a message center. The fridge is for food, and messy post-its are not a good partner for food.

4. The entryways usually becomes the clutter capital of the house

As crucial as the entryway is to the home's first impression, it is also prone to messy clutter of coats, shoes, and backpacks. Once kids get inside the house, they may tend to put heir stuff wherever they can be put, like on the floor or on a chair. This is not nice to look at. One way to organize this is by putting the appropriate tools/container by the entryway so that shoes, coats, and bags have a place to contain them.

Organizing your home is a continuous task, but once you get the hang of it, it would come naturally.
