"Once Upon a Time" star Jennifer Morrison, together with the show's creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, dropped by at the New York Comic Con last Friday and talked about what's ahead for season five's remaining episodes.
The actress appears on the show as The Black Swan, and this season's plot has seen her character evolve as she succumbs to being The Dark One. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Morrison dishes out on her character's "internal struggle."
"We now have this character that has this incredible capacity for light, because she was prophesized to be the savior in all this, but now she's dealing with being consumed with Darkness. So there's this internal struggle that's going on," she said.
During the panel, Morrison also said that the shift from Dark Swan to the Dark One is complicated. "Emma is still the savior - it's not that she's not Emma. She's the savior with darkness in her... a cauldron of constant conflict," the actress said, according to Variety. "At certain times the dark is winning and sometimes the light is winning. The struggle that she's going through internally is very real and very intense and it's been a lot of fun to play."
Things are definitely looking to become more exciting as the show's re-telling of the fairy tale continues. OUAT creators also revealed that there will be an extended two-hour episode to air on Nov. 15. This special episode will feature the characters Merida (Amy Manson), Mulan (Jamie Chung), and Ruby (Meghan Ory). Another episode the show's creators are carefully preparing is its 100th episode, airing on March 6.
In addition, Horowitz and Kitsis revealed that fans should watch out for Hook's storyline. An unlikely alliance between Hook, Robin Hood, and Regina will take place soon. A young version of Hook is also set to appear as flashback scenes. Moreover, Hook and the Evil Queen will be seen partnering up for an exciting adventure.
Furthermore, the show will reportedly delve deeper into the love triangle of Lancelot, Guinevere, Arthur. As for Merlin, the producers assured the fans that "he's a good force." When asked what the second half of the season will feel like, Kitsis immediately replied, "Hell."
"Once Upon a Time" is airing every Sunday, 8 p.m. on ABC.
