San Francisco’s Most Expensive Mansion Sells at a Record $35 Million

San Francisco's most expensive home in the posh neighborhood of Pacific Heights at 2950 Broadway Street has sold for a record price, $35 million. The buyers are identified as famous socialites of San Francisco, Alexis and Trevor Traina, who apparently live down the block.

According to the listing at Trulia, the mansion is an 11,000 square feet residence comprising of six bedrooms, five full and two half bathrooms. The home was built by starchitect, Fredrick H. Meyer in 1922. The home features marble and tiled flooring along with large glass windows.

The three story home has a spacious living room, a large formal dining room, a modern kitchen, a 3000 bottle wine cellar and numerous balconies that offer beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city as well. The place also has an infinity pool and landscaped gardens.

Trevor and Alexis Traina are famous socialites of San Francisco. Now the couple has two large mansions. Their primary residence was featured in Vogue Magazine in 2009.

A feature in the San Francisco Chronicle reads:

"For Trevor and me, the house was a shameless love poem to each other," Alexis Traina told Vogue magazine, whose spread on the home called her and her husband "gilded children of the city" and rhapsodized about the rarefied air "in the magnolia-scented heights of San Francisco's Gold Coast."

San Francisco has been in the news for a while now. Looks like, the place has become a real estate hub. While construction on the much-talked-about Transbay Transit Center has already broken ground, commercial real estate is also blooming in the city.

Property prices have been touching the roof for some time now. Check out some of the most expensive homes for sale in the city, here. More recently, the most expensive parking spot was listed for $80,000. The parking space is just a block away from a major shopping area and a number of educational institutions. The asking price is the highest for any parking space.
