The days are numbered for the upcoming premiere of the Golden Globe-winning series "Jane The Virgin" for its Season 2, which will return on Oct. 12, 9 p.m. on The CW. However, showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman and the entire cast continued to entice our curiousities with some juicy details you need to watch out for Season 2.
The CW series turns into a musical?
In an interview with Huffington Post last August, lead stars Gina Rodriguez and Jamie Camill expressed their interest in showcasing their singing prowess on screen.
Rodriguez and Camill elaborated on a dream sequence inside Rogelio's melodramatic mind, which according to the two, will include "feathers, flamingos, flying cast members and a rapping Rodriguez."
The Aftermath of Baby Mateo's Abduction
In the Season 1 finale, Jane unexpectedly delivered a baby boy despite hoping for a girl throughout the whole season. The series progressed as Baby Mateo got kidnapped by a nurse connected to Sin Rostro/Rose (Bridget Regan).
Urman reassured fans that Mateo will be returned to his mommy and that there will be "a new mystery" to look forward to.
Urman also felt eager to "wrap up a lot of stuff early on so that we could embark on fresh drama."
Jane's Vow To Remain a Virgin Before Marriage
As the love triangle between Jane and her two suitors continues, fans are not only thinking about another thing aside from Jane's future unknown groom: Will she remain a virgin or not?
Urman shared that Jane's strong commitment regarding her virginity will be brought up.
"I want her to achieve what she set out to achieve because it's important to her," she continued. "So beyond that I'm not too concerned, we always have twists and turns."
New Season 2 Cast Updates
Music continues to be a connection among the cast members and the show's new additions. Aside from "Magic Mike"'s Adam Rodriguez, who will play as Jane's writing teacher, Britney Spears, and Kesha will join the upcoming season. Spears will take on the role as the rival of Rogelio while the "TikTok" singer will play as Jane's neighbor who dislikes babies.
"Jane The Virgin" Season 2 Premiere Episode 1 "Chapter Twenty-Four" will air on Oct. 12, 2015, at 9 p.m. on The CW.
