Microsoft’s first Windows 10 Lumia smartphones are dubbed as powerful devices because of its specifications. Two new flagship phones, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL was released on the Microsoft Oct. 6 event.
Lumia 950 has a 5.2-inch WQHD OLED (564 PPI) display with 20MP PureView rear camera and optical image stabilization as well as 5MP wide angle front camera. It runs on Snapdragon 808, hexacore, 64-bit with a removable 3000mAh battery, Wired reported.
Meanwhile, the Lumia 950 XL has a display of 5.7-inch WQHD OLED (518 PPI). It is equipped with a powerful processor of Snapdragon 810, octacore, 64-bit. Internal storage is at 32GB with a memory of 3GB of RAM. Its camera has the same features as the 950. It has a removable battery of 3340mAh.
Both phones have 32GB internal storage with microSD card slot and 3GB of RAM memory. The displays as well as the chipsets is similar to other flagships like Samsung and Nexus. Like other phones, it also has the USB Type-C connector which is very much useful.
“We want to put Windows in your pocket,” Microsoft's Panos Panay said on stage. “If you haven’t thought about these phones, wake up!”
The Microsoft Lumia phones are the first to combine mobile and desktop operating systems since you can plug it to a keyboard and mouse so you can use it like a personal computer. It runs Windows 10 applications from Microsoft Word to PowerPoint.
The devices also has Windows 10’s deep integration with services like Outlook mail client. It also linked with OneDrive wherein you can store photos from the PureView camera online, TechCrunch reported.
Each of the handset features a liquid cooling tech and two internal antennas, which allows the phones the best possible connection available. Another good feature of the phones is its glance-screen technology that activates when the battery is at zero percent. Aside from that, Panay noted that merely charging the phones for 30 minutes will give you 50 percent battery charge, IGN reported.
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL are available in November for $550 and $650, respectively.
