Tommy Lee Jones Puts $26.75 Million South Florida Polo Estate on the Market

One of Sunday night's Oscar contenders, Tommy Lee Jones, has put his polo estate up for sale, reported Zillow blog.

Jones recently listed his estate located at 12550 40^th Street in South Wellington on sale for a whopping $26.75 million.

Gossip Extra blog reported the Oscar-winning actor bought the farm that spans an entire 50 acres nearly a decade ago. He named it the San Saba Polo Ranch and it comes with a regulation-sized polo field fit for a tournament.  

Other outdoor activities could be well spent on the ranch including horseback riding along the horse trails that go on for several miles and two barns with 48 stalls. 

The estate's living corridors, covering 11,000 square feet, comes with four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

According to property records retrieved by Gossip Extra, Jones officially bought the ranch in 2002 from two different transactions that cost a total of $4.62 million. That's a huge difference from what he's selling for now.

To see how much he loves his polo, you could trace his history from the Boca Raton team to today where Jones is a member of the International Polo Club Palm Beach. He joined Palm Beach team in mid-2000s, reported the blog.

"It's a unique property for a unique buyer," said real estate agent Philip Lyle Smith in an interview with Gossip Extra. "The appraisal could be a problem since there's a huge difference between what Mr. Jones bought it for and what he wants for it. It's going to take a while for him to sell it."

He also owns other properties big enough to host polo games in San Saba, Texas and California, which is why he decided to put this big estate up on the market. 

Jones' latest film "Lincoln," which he co-starred in alongside Daniel Day-Lewis took home the prized Oscar for lead actor that went to Day-Lewis and another in production design. 

Jones was nominated for his supporting role, as the spirited Sen. Thaddeus Stevens, but lost to Cristoph Walz in "Django Unchained."  Previously, Jones won the Oscar for his supporting role in "The Fugitive" and was nominated two other times in "JFK" and "In the Valley of Elah." And who can forget him as Agent K in "Men in Black" series?
