John Legend Makes a Profit on NYC Condo Sale

The "Tonight" singer, John Legend has sold his East Village, New York condo for $2.6 million. Legend purchased the home for around $1.9 million in 2009, but raked in a $775,000 profit in the sale.

According to TMZ, Legend first listed the home just a few months back in 2012 with an asking price of $2.9 million.

The East Village condo is a lovely 1,359 square foot residence with designer interiors decorations. The home is a 2 bedroom-2 bathroom place that offers panoramic views of the city and its skyline. The home has large floor-to-ceiling windows and marble and tiled flooring.

The living room is done with tasteful furniture and neutral colors. The living room leads to a swanky modern "white" kitchen with custom cabinetry and a breakfast area opposite to the kitchen counter.

The condo is located on the ninth floor of the luxury building. The building sits just adjacent to The Bowery Hotel in New York. The building offers extravagant amenities like a resort-style clear pool, roof deck, exterior spa and doorman facilities. It also offers parking space, reports Forbes.

Legend might have lived in the condo with his model fiancée, Christine Teigen. He got engaged to Teigen in 2011. He was recently spotted escorting Teigen to the "Today's Show". Teigen made a guest appearance on the show. The couple came in style at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party that was held at Sunset Towers in West Hollywood, California.

The talented Grammy winner, Legend has quite some laurels to add to his showcase. He wrote a song "Who Did That to You" which featured in the Oscar-nominated movie "Django Unchained". Christopher Waltz won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in the movie.
