Cancelled ‘Forever’ Season 2: What Would Have Become of Henry and Jo & More

"Forever" series creator Matt Miller gave fans a little bit of gift when he hosted a Twitter Q&A event on Thursday about what would have happened to the characters if the show was not cancelled.

"Forever" tells the story of Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), an immortal physician who worked with the New York Police Department. The drama was cancelled before the doctor could tell Detective Jo Martinez (Alana de la Garza) about his immortality. Jo saw a photo of the doctor and noticed that he's been looking the same for decades, TV Line wrote.

A fan asked how the doctor would explain to Jo the picture. Miller said, "Was going to be complicated then interrupted, then he tries to tell her then...." Well, he still has some hopes that the show will pick up in the future so he wasn't giving too much information. Miller revealed the Lucas would have found out of his condition so would have been the first to know about it.

According to Miller, the long-term plan is for Henry to die, but he doubted if he would have ever achieved death. It was also revealed that Miller had a family and children, aside from Abe, who would've been introduced through flashbacks in the second season.

If the show lasted for more than one season, fans would have seen Henry meet Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Miller said the "plan was to have a wink-wink that he inspired Holmes."

And did Jo and Henry made it to Paris? "That was the plan. Someday..." said Miller.

Two months ago, Miller announced through a heartbreaking message that "Forever" is not returning for another season, much to the disappointment of fans. According to Cinema Blend, Miller said: "This is a hard message to write but I'm sorry to report that despite Warners Bros. best efforts they haven't been able to find a new home for Forever. That doesn't mean they won't keep trying but wanted to give you all the real, although disheartening news. I've been hesitant to reach out because I (like you) didn't want to believe that this was really the end. We had so much story left to tell, questions unanswered; romances unfulfilled; characters to introduce... But I suppose I was asking for trouble when I named the show Forever."
