Crowne Plaza Edinburgh: Hotel in Royal Terrace Now for Sale after Collapse of Prima Hotel Group

Crown Plaza Royal Terrace Hotel in Edinburgh has been put up for sale by AlixPartners. Crowne Plaza is said to be one of the five hotels "called into administration" when Prima Hotel Group collapsed back in May.

According to BBC News, AlixPartners has ordered JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group to "dispose" of the hotel. Property Magazine reports that the Crowne Plaza Hotel is available as a franchise of IHG Hotels Limited or "with vacant possession subject to negotiation."

The hotel's official website states that Crowne Plaza Royal Terrace Edinburgh is a four-star boutique hotel located in the city center. The hotel's location covers the impressive terrace of Georgian townhouses and offers amazing views of the Firth of Forth.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is just a short walk away from the Edinburgh Castle as well as the Financial and Shopping District of George Street. The Edinburgh airport is also conveniently close to the hotel, just a 25-minute taxi ride away.

Crowne Plaza Edinburgh Royal Terrace offers guests creature comforts in its rooms which feature complimentary high-speed Internet, mini bar, air conditioning and more. The hotel has a total of 100 rooms, and guests can choose from standard and club rooms as well as suites.

Pampering guests during their stay are various leisure facilities such as private indoor pool, steam room, and the fully air conditioned Techno Gym with loads of equipment. Visitors can also enjoy an extraordinary gastronomic experience at the Crowne Plaza hotel's numerous restaurants, which offer an extensive breakfast buffet and a variety of menus.

According to Director Kerr Young, the hotel offers a lot of potential for its new owner.

"Edinburgh is the strongest performing hotel market in the UK after London and one of the best performing hotel markets in Europe. The Crowne Plaza provides an opportunity for an investor to extract value through active asset management, leveraging in-house expertise or an experienced third-party operator, in one of the UK's most sought after hotel markets," he claimed.
