Realty and Tourist News: Chicago Ranks Highest Among Tourist-Loving Cities

According to a new study from jet charter company Stratos, Chicago is on top of the list among tourist-loving cities in the U.S. In general, the Midwest region comes out as the friendliest region in the U.S., with Illinois coming in the top spot for states, and Chicago ranking the highest among individual cities. Chicagoans aren't surprised with the rank as tourism has been a major boost to the city's economy.

As reported by Chicago.Curbed news, over the last few years, Chicago has been on a streak with tourism, setting records for number of visitors and hotel bookings. The largest convention center in the continent is currently undergoing some major changes that will bring new hotels and an arena to it. The state's most popular tourist attraction, Navy Pier, is also undergoing a major makeover with colorful lights in the downtown areas which will keep tourists exploring the city more and well into the evening.

Chicago has always been a popular destination for its architecture and museums. With the plethora of new hotel rooms under construction and the ambitious tourism goals for the next few years, the city is poised to continue loving its tourists.

It's no surprise to Chicagoans that their city is considered one of the friendliest cities for tourists. Chicago was ranked the top tourist-loving city in the U.S. in a new study reported by City Lab. The rankings were determined by an algorithm to assess the sentiment in geo-tagged tweets using the word "tourist." Chicagoans apparently are not tweeting when they're trying to navigate the tourist-filled sidewalks of Michigan Avenue, Navy Pier, or outside the Art Institute.

As reported by Chicagoist, New York City followed Chicago in having the highest rank among tourist-loving cities, while Las Vegas comes in third. Boston, New Orleans, Orlando, Greensboro, Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Francisco were among the Top 10. If you want Chicago to keep this ranking, make sure you don't send angry tweets about Chicago's tourism.
