The massive hit ABC comedy series "Modern Family" will be returning for Season 7, and the showrrunners are feeling the pressure as the show premieres after the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards. It was announced that Season 7 will premiere just days after the Emmy's and creator Christopher Lloyd said that they are feeling the pressure to deliver a good show.

"Modern Family" is again nominated for "Outstanding Comedy Series" and Lloyd reportedly feels the pressure to stay on top. If the show wins the award this year, it will be its sixth consecutive win for the said category. Lloyd expressed his thoughts on the show's success in his recent interview with Deadline. He said that the success "feels gratifying."

Lloyd also gave several hints on the upcoming season of the show. He said that now that the kids are growing up, there are new storylines for the writers to explore. According to International Business Times, Lloyd mentioned how Haley (Sarah Hyland) used to be a "surly" teenager, but in the new season, fans will see how she has grown up as she reportedly will have a "legitimate adult relationship" in Season 7.

Lloyd added that other characters will be transitioning into adulthood like Manny Delgado (Rico Rodriguez), who will have a more mature role this season. Meanwhile, Alex (Ariel Winter) will be going away  for college and fans will see how she will struggle being away from her family.

Now that Alex is gone, Phil (Ty Burell) and Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) will also struggle and deal with Luke's (Nolan Gould) crazy teenage years. It was reported that Luke will be going to develop a "criminal streak" in Season 7. Meanwhile, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) will be facing some financial problems.

"Modern Family" will return for Season 7 on ABC on September 23.
