"The Originals" season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 8 and though a month away, spoilers are skewering for the upcoming season. Just last month, "Veronica Mars" actor Jason Dohring is set to star next season as Detective Will Kinney. What will Dohring's role bring for this season?
Warning: Spoilers for the upcoming Season 3 of "The Originals" will be revealed.
While the last season left us with a subtler ending, many are now at peace as Dahlia's searing terror has now ended. Moving forward, Dohring's character will be an exemption from the vampires, hybrids, and witches we've come to know from the start of the series. According to THR, Dohring will be a human and he will be the detective handling a case from the third season's episode.
As what Executive Producer Julie Plec said regarding Dohring's character to THR, she said:
"Jason's character is decidedly human. It's a nice breath of fresh air. He plays a detective. There is a crime that happens in the first episode, and he comes in to investigate it. He's working closely with some of our characters. The question is, how much does he know or not know about what's going on in the supernatural world? And what's going to happen to him as a result of digging too deep?"
Plec also revealed that Dohring's character will interact with Cami and Vincent a lot and that we will see Cami to be as she described "little CSI." The two will assist Dohring in some investigations.
The article of IB Times also mentioned Plec being so eager and excited to cast Dohring in the series and admitted in the interview with THR that although she loved the Executive Producer's Rob Thomas and Diane Rugiero of "Veronica Mars," she has not watched it and only knew Dohring from Kevin Williamson, who is the Executive producer of "Vampire Diaries."
Plec even expressed her feelings of casting Dohring saying that she's "lucky" to have found a person many people loved before.
"The Originals" Season 3 will air its premiere on Thur. Oct. 8 on the CW.
