'Wayward Pines' May Be Renewed, Season 2 Still Possible

"Wayward Pines" may have a chance to get back on screen as Director M. Night Shyamalan and writer of the novel which the series is based upon, are discussing new twists, turns and a possible renewal of the series. Is Season 2 going to see the light of day?

"Wayward Pines" featured its season one finale last July 23, reported Realty Today. The last episode of the said season was the last approved launch of the series as Fox concluded that it was only due for one season.

However, Christian Post reported that the series' director M. Night Shyalaman and writer Blake Crouch of the novel from which the series was based, are currently discussing a possible renewal of the series.

In an interview, Shyalaman revealed, "I knew where we were heading for the finale and so we could architecture ten episodes in that manner. So, I am happy to walk away, especially with such a wonderful reaction and all that stuff. But honestly, Blake and I do have an idea we've discussed. That's all I'll say."

According to Christian Today, the series was able to garner around 3.9 million audiences when it was still airing. This made the series one of the program's shows that earned the highest rating in the summer. However, despite the success, Fox pulled the plug as it was only set for one season.

When Shyalaman revealed that they are discussing a comeback of the series, if given the opportunity, they will have a different approach.

Looking back, the season one finale showed that Ben Burke, the lead character played by Charlie Tahan, woke up in the hospital after being unconscious for a while. He then was able to realize that the town was in a worse condition.

Given this, predictions stated in the report indicated that if season 2 was to air, it would show a more interesting twist, especially when the young ones are making the calls already. Furthermore, since they are worse and more twisted than their parents, the second season would appear to be even more exciting.

Now that director M. Night Shyalaman of the novel-based series "Wayward Pines" and its writer Blake Crouch are discussing a possible renewal of the series, will the audience get to experience a second season?
