PlayStation Slim 4 will be released in October after fans were previously disappointed in an expected launch during the E3 2015 Gamescon.
PlayStation 4 has already sold approximately 18.5 million units since it was first launched in 2013. Sony is known to release a slim version of each video game console they produce. When it comes to its slim version, however, the company seems to be holding back, although they had previously confirmed that there will be a PlayStation 4 1TB, also referred to by many as PlayStation 4 Slim. This is why it came as a surprise for fans when Sony did not mention the release of the upcoming console at this year's E3 event.
PS4 Slim reports are saying that Sony has already made plans to introduce the new game console sometime October this year, although the exact date for its market release is yet to be confirmed
Sony's official statement, recently released by the company regarding PS4 Slim, says, "Support for high-resolution 4K output for still images and movie content is in consideration, but there are no further details to share at this time."
PS4's major provider Netflix refused to give details as well. In an official statement, the company remains firm in its stand to "Bring leading entertainment features and services to the living room." However, they further announced that they have nothing more to say regarding the console right now.
Though Sony is reluctant to broadcast any update, it was reported that they have filed a registration with the FCC this month for a 1TB Playstation 4. "This filing also shows the same weight and dimensions of the smaller PS4 announced by Sony today," Digital Trends reported.
PlayStation 4 Slim is said to be released this coming Oct. 27 in Paris during the games week where Sony will be hosting, Venture Capital revealed.
