Verizon Making The Internet Connection Speed Up 1,000 Times Faster

Almost all of us wanted things to go fast. From transportation to applications, we crave for fast and reliable experience. And this is the aim of Verizon. Verizon, an American broadband and Telecommunications Company and one of the largest wireless communications service providers, is working on a new broadband technology that is said to be capable of giving its consumers the fastest internet speed ever recorded.

According to cnn, the new broadband service of Verizon would give customers a download speed of 10 gigabits per seconds. And if true, then it would be 10 times faster than Google Fiber and 1000 time faster than the average home internet connection in the United States.

Speculations abound how fast this service would be, and in order to answer such curiosity concretely, cnn likewise reported Verizon's example stating that;

"How fast is that exactly? A two-hour high definition movie would take eight seconds to download, 100 students could download a textbook in two seconds simultaneously, and uploading 1,000 photos would take about two seconds as well."

Such drastic technological leap is not product of sorcery or magic, for the new technology works by adding new colors of light onto the existing fiber optic cable networks that the Verizon currently have. The new technology, once capacity is built up, "could one day become capable of delivering speeds as fast as 40 to 80 gigabits per second", Verizon added.

This planned upgrade of Verizon is not a new move in the industry of wireless and broadband communication. For just last week as reported by cnn, "Google Fiber, a subsidiary of newly-formed conglomerate Alphabet (GOOGL, Tech30), announced it would build a new fiber network in San Antonio." They joined Comcast on the company's recent upgrade last month at 2 gigabit per second.

The companies like Verizon, Google, AT&T and Comcast, sees fiber optic technology as the fastest way to transmit data over long distances, that is why an effort for upgrade are duly given by this tech giants.
