Sony Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Improves Xperia Z3 Series; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Toggles Enhanced, Alarm Feature Added

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is said to have been implemented on the Sony Xperia Z3 compact, the Xperia Z3, as well as the compact tablet device.

The most recent update of the Android OS on Xperia Z3 will be carrying firmware identification 23.4.A.0.546, PTRCB reported. Other strong evidences of the upcoming release of the software are the three YouTube videos featuring the 5.1.1 Lollipop running the Xperia Z3 compact tablet, the Xperia Z3 compact, and the Xperia Z3.

The software update is said to make notable changes, such as modifiable icon sizes through the home screen settings. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi toggles located on the quick settings now also have options for connectivity without having to proceed to the settings menu. The Alarm feature has also been added in the settings for the sound through the volume rockers. The general theme and icons are also new improvements in the devices, reports VC Post.

Android Lollipop 5.1.1 will not be limited to the Sony Z3 Xperia series because it will also be made available for Xperia Z2 tablet and Xperia Z2.

Sony is currently focusing their attention on the Android 5.1 Lollipop release in the above-mentioned devices. However, there is a high possibility that other devices will receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. These devices include: Xperia M2 Aqua, Xperia M2, Xperia Z Tablet, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Z, Xperia C3, Xperia Ultra T2, Xperia Ultra Z, Xperia Compact Z1, and Xperia Z1.

Those expecting the Sony Xperia releases in 2015 will have to wait longer for the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop or at least the Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

Meanwhile, the Android Lollipop 5.1 software update will execute better options of customization on alert functions and volume controls, LinkedIn integration on Calendar applications, camera app enhancements to feature more accurate and faster superior auto mode, improvements to the business features of the Sony Xperia series, and integration of SmartWear to allow SmartWatch 3 and for it to be used as a camera shutter even in remote locations.
