'Prison Break' Sequel Update: Series Comes Back Summer of 2016, Michael Scofield is Alive!

"Prison Break," an American Drama series, will have a sequel following the go-signal from Fox TV Network. The new season will have a 10-episode arc limit. Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller will be returning to play their roles as Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield.

Dana Walden from "Prison Break" of Fox Network said that the sequel will be picking up a number of years after the end of the previous series. However, it can be remembered that Scofield (Miller) did not survive the finale.

As all TV shows have their own explanations regarding why and how things happen, Walden clarified that in the "Prison Break" sequel, a logical and believable explanation will be presented as to why the characters are still alive and still moving around the world.

She even added that the two brothers, along with a few iconic characters, will be back. This will help tackle questions set up toward the ending of the series. A huge concern among the "Prison Break" fans is how Purcell and Miller will be able to maintain their roles while being committed to playing major roles in another action-adventure TV series entitled "Legends of Tomorrow." Geeks of Doom has reported that both actors' involvement with "Legends of Tomorrow" would not interfere with the filming of "Prison Break."

The "Prison Break" TV series have already been running for four seasons. The first and second seasons of "Prison Break" were greatly praised, while the last two were not as good, Tech Times reports. However, its steady exposure on Netflix has significantly increased the show's reputation over the years.

No other information is available yet as to who among the other "Prison Break" characters will be back, but we know that its original creator Paul Scheuring will still have a big part in its production.

As of now, reports say that this "Prison Break" sequel project will begin early in 2016 and will be set for release by the summer.
