Kelly Osbourne Apologizes for Offensive Comment About Latinos

Former Fashion Police host Kelly Osbourne made her public apology last Tuesday, through the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, on a comment she made on a live telecast of The View that same day.

She had this for her post: "I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions. In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT." Osbourne added, "It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole."

Osbourne made this immediate action after she was criticized on Twitter for her discriminatory remark.

The hosts of the morning show, Rosie Perez and Raven Symone, were discussing another controversial remark about the immigrants uttered by Presidential candidate Donald Trump in his speech last month. Trump had said that among other things, the Mexicans sent "rapists" to the U.S. Osbourne then asked, "If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?" This, of course, got the ire of the public.

Perez immediately interrupted her and went on to say, "No, that's not... no. There's more jobs than that in the country for Latinos, and Latinos are not the only people who clean toilets."

Osbourne was quick to backtrack and say on air that she did not mean it like that. She went on to say that she would never mean anything like that, and that she is not a part of the argument.

Later in the show, Perez stood up for Osbourne and defended her by saying: "I want to apologize to this young woman once again for being overly sensitive...Kelly Osbourne is on our side, and I was sensitive. My disdain should only go to Donald Trump, so I'm sorry, darling."

Osbourne's Facebook apology has garnered more than 4,000 likes.
