New MacBook Air 2016 To Be the Cheapest Apple Laptop Ever; Device To Be Unveiled in October

Tech giant Apple is set to release what industry commentators branded as the "cheapest" Apple laptop, the MacBook Air 2016. The rumored MacBook Air 2016 is slated to be unveiled in October with a price tag of $899, the lowest and competitive introductory price ever for an Apple MacBook, a report from Master Herald said on Wednesday.

According to Master Herald, aside from the cheapest introductory price of the 2016 MacBook Air, the laptop is equipped with newly improved specifications and features. The 2016 MacBook Air is expected to arrive in retail markets by March 2016.

The new Apple laptop will be powered by Intel Core-M based Skylake processor. Intel's Skylake processor will reportedly be shipped in the fourth quarter of 2015, and this is said to be the reason why Apple's laptop will be released in the first quarter of 2016. Apple's rumored 2016 MacBook is expected to come out with two models: the 13-inch model and a 15-inch model.

According to a related report from Gotta Mobile, Apple's new 2016 MacBook Air will feature a new keyboard and trackpad. The keyboard is expected to be 40 percent thinner compared to the previous model's design. The thinner keyboard is reportedly more durable as it is made of stainless steel.

Aside from the new keyboard design, the keyboard keys have its own LED backlight and the new laptop will reportedly use Apple's new Force Touch trackpad. Inside the device, a new fanless design is expected to minimize noise and avoid overheating of the said laptop.

Apple's new MacBook 2016 is also expected to feature 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD storage capacity. The report stated that other models will have the same feature but will have a bigger SSD storage capacity of 256GB. The premium version is expected to have 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD, according to the same website.
