'Aladdin' Live Action Prequel Currently Under Development

"A whole new world, a dazzling place I never knew..." Did these lines ring a bell? If not, how about these characters...Aladdin, Jasmine, Abu, Genie?

If you guessed "Aladdin", then you're right!

The beloved 1992 animated musical movie by Walt Disney Pictureswill soon be seen by the present audience and currently undertaking initial stages to be developed as a live-action film according to The Variety.

Currently, Mouse House is on the works for the prequel of this movie named "Genies." The story according to The Hollywood Reporter circles around the "realm of Genies" and the revelation of how Aladdin's genie was enslaved in the lamp.

The Genie before was voiced by the late Robin Williams and who is known for the lines, "Master, I shall grant you three wishes."

The screenwriter for the said prequel will be handled by the team of Damion Shannon and Mark Swift. It will be produced by Tripp Vinson via his banner, Vinson Films.

"Aladdin" is based from an Arabian folktale "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp," from the book "One Thousand and One Nights."

The story is about a poor boy who idles around the streets along with his pet monkey, Abu, that accidentally finds a magical lamp in a cave and unleashes a genie. Along with the story also comes Aladdin's love interest, Princess Jasmine and troubling undertakings done by the evil, Jafar.

It is the 31st animated feature by Disney. The 1992 film was voiced over by famous actors like Scott Weinger who voiced Aladdin, the late Robin Williams who voiced Genie, and Jonathan Freeman who voiced Jafar.

The film "Disney's Aladdin" was released in November 25, 1992 and is regarded as one of the most successful films earning $504 million worldwide. Due to its success, sequels of the film have been released like "The Return of Jafar" and "Aladdin and the King of Thieves."
