There have been several reports speculating that Castle and Beckett will be headed for a break up in "Castle" Season 8, following the introduction of a new female character named Hayley. This rumor also came in with a blind item from TV Line, citing that a well-loved couple from an aging series will be breaking up in the upcoming season, Carter Matt noted.

While all these are nothing but mere speculations, actress Stana Katic, who plays Detective Kate Beckett on "Castle" recently teased fans via Twitter that the upcoming season will be a "nail-biter."

"Had a great mtg w @AlexiHawley & @OldManWinter14 about S8! (Nail-biter) Love #Castle cast&crew. Looking forward to playing together again," the 37-year-old actress wrote.

Does this confirm speculations from fans that there will be massive changes in the Casket tandem next season?

New co-showrunner Alexi Hawley did not reveal as much about "Castle" Season 8 and whether or not the rumors are true; however, the showrunner hinted that the upcoming Season 8 will change the dynamics of the story, EW reported.

"We just want to get in there and try to tell some really dynamic stories. Going into season 8, it feels like it's time to shake things up a little bit," he said.

"Castle" Season 8 premieres on Sept. 21 on ABC.
