‘Monsters of Rock’ Video Game Features Best Hair Metal Acts

A trailer of an imaginary 8-Bit video game called 'Monsters of Rock' courtesy of Loudwire features some of the best-known metal acts of the '80s such as Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Twisted Sister. The video game basically highlights 80's metal anthems in old-school chip-tune midis as well as 80's metal gods in super pixilated 8 bit graphics.

Focusing on top five metal hits that epitomize the hair metal era, the trailer kicks of with the Guns N' Roses' tune, "Welcome to the Jungle" placed in the iconic games Contra and Donkey Kong Jr. It also showed Slash, Duff and Axl. Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" is brought out with Super Mario, the Big Fish from Megaman 2 and Ganon from Link to the Past. The video makes a perfect cartoon replica of Joe Eliot. Motley Crue's "Girls, Girls, Girls," accompanies Mario riding Karts featuring the bad boys of metal running into an ogling alien from Angry Video Game Nerd. "Bang Your Head" from Quiet Riot plays during the escape of Jason from the Friday the 13th series under the unmindful Dr. Mario. Finally, in the tradition of the video going against their teacher, "We're Not Gonna Take It" is sang by Twisted Sister joined by Sweet Tooth and Dollface from Twisted Metal to frighten and kick out the Neidermeyer-like character from Animal House.

According to ultimateclassicrock, this throwback fun from Loudwire and Filthy Frackers follows the tradition of an earlier trailer entitled Big 4 of thrash which featured Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. This time, the video trailer made for fun featured heavy metal. Perhaps later, Loudwire and Filthy Frackers can make a video featuring Grunge or Seattle sound, Alternative Rock, or Rap Metal.

But if you are a bit tech nerd, you can actually create your own 8-bit video game sound effects using your own musical preferences by following this link.
