Female Rockstar Almost Played Harley Quinn in Batman Film

Female rockstar Courtney Love almost made it to play Harley Quinn in a Batman film, Cinemablend reported. Before Christopher Nolan's 2015 blockbuster Batman Begins, a Batman spinoff that will focus on Harley Quinn has been crafted and pitched but failed to make it to the big screen. The story's writer Mark Protosevich confirmed the news and said that Love was indeed considered to play the role. Protosevich also said that the former lead vocalist of Hole was excited to play the role when it was laid down to her by Protosevich during a meeting over lunch.

The movie was set to be stirred by legends, Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher but unfortunately did not materialized. The movie coined Batman Unchained will also headline four of Batman's most known villains but according to Protosevich, the storyline will favor heavily on Quinn.

Batman Unchained was being baked back in 1997 before the release of Batman & Robin, the same year Love tried her luck in acting and starred in the The People vs. Larry Flynt. Her acting skills in the People vs. Larry Flynt brought Love a Golden Globe nomination and Oscar buzz but failed to win the awards. She continued to star in other films such as Foreman's Man on the Moon in 1999 and was featured in TV series such as Sons of Anarchy, Empire, and Revenge.

According to Consequence of Sound, the Batman Unchained movie was planned to include cameos of past Batman villains such as Danny DeVito as The Penguin, Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, Jim Carrey as The Riddler, and the legendary Jack Nicholson as The Joker. The plan was also to star Nicholas Cage as Scarecrow and Love as Quinn.

Madonna was also considered for the Quinn role but the film was dropped immediately by Warner Bros due to Batman & Robin's poor box office performance.

Love is the estranged wife of Hall of Fame inductee and Rock and Roll Legend, Kurt Cobain.

Harley Quinn will be featured in the upcoming film Suicide Squad and will be played by bombshell, Margot Robbie.
