Darnell Dockett Contract & Net Worth: 49ers Star Lists Arizona Home

Darnell Dockett just signed a two-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, NFL.com's Kevin Patra reported.

NFL Media insider, Ian Rapoport, provided more details via Twitter, and he said that the deal is worth $7.5M with $4M in the first year and $2M on the second year.

Dockett's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed the news when he posted a tweet congratulating "the newest Niner!"

With the contract, the NFL veteran is sure to increase his already large net worth of $35M, as stated on Celebrities Money.

Since he is transferring from Arizona to San Francisco, this new 49ers star is listing his Chandler home for less than $1M or $949,000 to be exact, reports Realtor.com. The NFL defensive end player seems to be rushing this sale as he cuts a big chunk from its original price of $1.4M when he bought the Arizona home way back in 2006.

Although it was set on a bargain, the almost 5000 sq.ft. estate boasts six bedroms and five baths, high-ceilings, great room with travertine flooring and a sleek kitchen custom-built for a chef's delight, Realtor.com describes.

The former Cardinals' home has a spa that comes with a waterfall for a very relaxing home staycation. For videophiles, there is a modern theater room that features a "pull-down projection screen and an elevated seating area," the outlet adds.

Dockett has spent many years living in this home as he played as a Cardinal for a decade. He once criticized his former teammate, Karlo Dansby, for leaving the team in 2014 for Cleveland's, notes Arizona Sports.

"He chased the money. I've got a lot of respect for our guy that left, I love him like a brother. But we were one or two pieces away from really making a lot of noise. I personally feel like he chased the money versus chasing a ring. No knock towards Cleveland -- I don't want people to try to think I'm saying Cleveland doesn't have a chance; everybody has a chance -- but I just felt like it was made for him to be here. But again, the financial part is totally different -- I don't know anything about that," Dockett said during that time.

Now, it's Dockett time to go despite Arizona Cardinals trying to renegotiate a deal for the veteran to just stay, Arizona Sports notes in another report recently.

So, is Dockett's transfer to the 49ers all about chasing the money now? Some would say he is wise to grab it, since he just came off from a serious knee injury, as reported on ESPN.
